Schlitt does not maintain a separate sustainability function.
The company's environmental obligations arise from the same operations that generate its revenue, and are managed by the people responsible for those operations rather than by a parallel office reporting elsewhere. This page describes how that responsibility is organised and points to where the work itself is set out.
Material continuity
Schlitt's core activity is the placement of material that would otherwise have no destination. The company accepts difficult material streams, characterises them, places them, documents the placement, and retains responsibility for the location.
This is not a waste service. It is a continuity commitment, and the distinction matters to how the work is assessed. A waste service is complete when material is removed. A continuity commitment is never complete, which is why Schlitt records placements rather than disposals.

Coastal stewardship
Schlitt works on shorelines that other operators have declined, and the company's stewardship obligations follow from that choice.
Where Schlitt stabilises a coastline, it commits to maintaining the stabilisation through successive renewal cycles rather than through a single intervention. Where a facility sits on frontage the company has made usable, public access is preserved. Where seasonal renewal work is underway, the company discloses it.

Operating responsibility
Schlitt's environmental performance is governed through the same committee structure that governs its financial and operational performance, on the view that a company which separates the two is describing an intention rather than a practice.
Responsibility for a site is not transferred when a project concludes. It is retained.

Reporting
Schlitt reports on environmental matters through its ordinary operating disclosures rather than through a separate annual publication.
The company has considered producing a standalone sustainability report and has so far declined to do so. Its position is that a dedicated report invites a firm to describe its best work at length and its ordinary work briefly, and that a reader is better served by disclosures that appear alongside everything else the company is doing.
